Researches, ideates, designs, tests, validates and measures solutions to meet client needs and business goals through new and existing applications, using established best practices for software design and user experience.
Collaborates with product personnel, business stakeholders, technology representatives and various functions to define product strategy, goals and objectives, and to create / refine application requirements to achieve the product plan.
Creates navigation structures and information designs, and constructs prototypes, storyboards and mockups to effectively communicate designs to product management and development.
Works closely with technology representatives as products are being developed to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Strategizes and helps set the direction of the product roadmap based upon client needs and business goals
- Considers how the digital experience supports and aligns with offline touchpoints that the client has with the company
- Gathers and synthesizes client, competitor and industry data to guide product design
- Facilitates strategic, client-centric decisions made on product development
- Creates intuitive user experiences for desktop and mobile platforms using proven innovation methods, such as user personas, journey mapping and Design Thinking
- Creates mockups and prototypes interaction designs, including user interaction models, information architectures and navigation models, wireframes and screen flows
- Plans and executes research on mockups, prototypes and existing interfaces, analyzes study artifacts to create actionable findings, creates recommendations for improvement and iterates designs based on research recommendations
- Facilitates design workshops, ideation sessions and client co-creation sessions
- Communicates and presents user needs and design solutions to key stakeholders
- Measures, monitors and communicates a dashboard of key performance indicators related to product usage and client sentiment.
- Education Required : Degree qualified in a discipline related to Human Computer Interactions, Graphic Design, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
Advanced degree in related field or business helpful.
- Experience Required : 5 or more years in a user experience design role.
- Knowledge of design fundamentals including information design, visual design, industry UI standards for desktop, web-based and mobile applications, and has knowledge of usability best practices.
- Special Qualifications : Proficiency with wireframing, prototyping and / or interface design software, such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD or Balsamiq, and general knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop.
- Certifications : Design-related professional certifications are helpful, but not required, such as Certified Usability Analyst, awarded by Human Factors International, or UX Certification, awarded by NN / g.
