Job Summary :
Title : Workshop and Content Development Specialist (Youth & Adult Programs )
Location : Hybrid with occasional travel to Toronto Provincial Office
Hours : 37.5 hours per week (1 FTE) including some evenings & weekends
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000 / year
Duration : One-year contract

Position Summary :
Reporting to the Youth & Adult Support Manager, the Workshop and Content Development Specialist will collaborate with the Transition and Adult Support team to create and / or deliver existing presentations and workshops to an Autistic youth and adult audience.
This role collaborates with Autism Ontario employees and volunteers and actively engages with autistic youth, adults and caregivers to create meaningful learning opportunities, connections, and accessible experiences within Ontario.
Key Responsibilities :
- Live (virtual and / or in-person where possible) facilitation or co-facilitation of workshops created by Autism Ontario for Autistic youth and adults.
- Live or pre-recorded participation in Autism Ontario education or training presentations.
- Research on ideas and topics that are relevant and desired by both the Autistic community and caregivers of Autistic adults.
- Develop materials that are relevant and accessible to Autistic youth and adults, caregivers, employers, and community members.
- Work collaboratively with fundraising, grant and community partners to track and achieve grant deliverables.
- Collaboration with Transition and Adult Support, Care Coordination, Training and Education, Regions, Events and other internal stakeholders.
- Collaboration with and alongside Autistic adults is required and may involve working with Autism Ontario staff to facilitate focus groups, steering committee work, grant writing / reporting, participation at in-person community events, presentations, facilitating workshops and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment :
Maintain a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout the province to our various office locations as needed.
An acceptable criminal reference check for the vulnerable sector. Adherence to Autism Ontario policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Diploma or a degree in Human Services, Social Services or Arts.
- 3 years of experience in facilitating workshops (virtual / in-person), trainings and / or delivering presentations.
- Extensive knowledge of systemic, societal, and attitudinal barriers experienced by autistic adults.
- Strong understanding of challenges experienced by people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Strong public speaking and group-work skills.
- Must demonstrate sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently while part of the Transition and Adult Support Team.
- Computer skills including working knowledge of Office 365, Sharepoint
