Transmission Lines Civil Engineer

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Transmission Lines Civil Engineer to work on a 1-year contract for one of BC'

s largest utility and energy companies.

Location : Burnaby, BC Hybrid

Responsibilities :

This role requires experience in designing foundations for overhead structures, underground cable ducts, and telecommunication towers in an electric utility environment, with operating voltages from 60kV to 500kV.

Key responsibilities include :

• Preparing project documentation and deliverables per design practices and regulatory standards.
• Developing design work packages, including scope and estimates.
• Preparing signed and sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR).
• Providing technical assistance, field support, and undertaking field reviews as required.
• Conducting structural design and analysis for various foundation types (concrete, steel, timber, etc.) related to overhead lines, underground cables, and submarine cables.
• Performing seismic analysis and design.
• Offering technical guidance and reviewing designs from others.
• Managing design tasks, including scope, schedule, and cost.

Requirements : Must haves :

Must haves :

• A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent
• The candidate will be required to occasionally travel to and stay at remote site.
• The candidate will require to have a valid Class 5 Driver's License in BC.
• P.Eng & P2P
• Civil Engineer degree and work experience

Nice to haves :

Working knowledge of Transmission Engineering Foundation Design is an asset
