At SMS Equipment, our HR Systems & Analytics Manager is responsible for contributing to the overall employee experience through continuous improvement of HR systems practice, maximizing system ROI, HR process automation, and enhancement of HR reporting and analytics to achieve greater workforce insights.
The HR Systems & Analytics Manager will provide their expertise in various areas including, system functionality, process standardization and data insights.
This position is based in Acheson, AB.
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Coach and motivate staff to high levels of performance, promoting continuous improvement while ensuring they have the knowledge, skills and resources needed to perform their jobs effectively and provide excellence service to customers.
- Lead and support the development of a team of HRIS analysts with varying levels of technical expertise.
- Perform annual team member reviews and develop objectives.
- Partner with HR Services, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, and OHSE to regularly explore opportunities to achieve process improvement and automation using system functionality.
- Preparation of business cases to justify the implementation of new solutions or solution enhancements.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and proactively bring opportunities to internal decision-makers.
- Pursue continuous improvement opportunities to enhance employee and manager experiences.
- Ensure tasks and process compliance with all applicable Corporate and HR policies.
- Lead the consolidation and standardization of HR reporting within the team, partnering with stakeholders to assist with optimizing data availability and integrity.
- Regular engagement with HR and other audiences to ensure that reporting is applicable and pertinent to business requirements.
- Support with the preparation of reporting for the CHRO and ELT to help inform strategic business decisions, using insights derived from system data.
- Support story telling with data by turning data to information, and information into actionable insight.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a post-secondary education in a related field paired with a minimum of 5 years experience as a HR professional .
Other requirements include :
- 3 years experience in a leadership position with a demonstrated ability to lead professionals.
- CPHR Designation or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of statistical analysis, business analytics, finite mathematics, or quantitative research methods courses at a university level as part of a degree program is an asset.
- Seasoned knowledge of human resource information systems and processes.
- Extensive experience in HR metric reporting and preparation of data is a comprehensive and engaging manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to prepare and deliver reporting to stakeholders at various levels.
- Experience with HRIS systems, cloud-based applications, and data analytics.
- Skills in project management, business engagement, change management, facilitation, and the ability to resolve complex and contentious issues are a definite asset.
- PMP or PMBOK methodology or certification would be an asset.
