- Degree with Safety or associated with Industrial Safety.
- Separate Safety Qualification.
- Professional training and Certification for Labour Safety Specialists and Managers.
- Current Certification in First Aid.
- Training regarding PPE.
- Certification in Fire Safety Measures (advanced training).
- Certification in the area of Industrial Safety Measures.
- Certification in the area of Electrical Safety Measures.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the role of Health & Safety Management with a strong background in large construction projects and management of large teams.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the mining or other heavy industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, particularly managing Expat Teams.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- Identify and manage Health & Safety risks.
- Ensure the implementation of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Assess and analyse production risks.
- Organise and conduct inspections and investigations in the area of Occupational Health & Safety.
- Conduct safety briefings and meetings.
- Coach Supervisors in techniques, which continually promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across site.
- Control and ensure labour protection, industrial safety, environmental protection and fire safety.
- Control and ensure civil defence and protection in emergency situations.
- Issue Work Permits.
- Develop, manage and implement a programme of audits and support, and assist in conducting risk assessments.
- Ensure the control and elimination of all registered HSE non-conformances.
- Carry out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and making recommendations for any corrective actions required.
- Prepare internal and external H&S Reports.
- Interact with Government agencies.
- Ensure the safety of employees in the performance of their duties and create safe working conditions at each workplace.
- Organise training of employees in safe job methods and techniques.
