Position Summary :
The Medical Office Assistant / Clinic Assistant is a qualified individual charged with the responsibility of clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a physician and direction of the physician and / or Clinic Manager to assist in patient care and administration.
What you will be doing :
- Managing all telephone communication with patients including :
- scheduling appointments,
- relaying specialist appointments information
- relaying test results to patients as directed by doctors
- Managing patient appointment and records requirements by :
- scheduling patient's monthly and yearly appointments
- registering new patients
- handling referrals to and from other doctor’s offices
- Other Duties :
- Ensure exams rooms are fully stocked at all times
- Managing patient flow when doctors are in the office including directing patients to exam rooms, instructing parents regarding levels of undress required,
- Weighing and measuring patients, and charting results of weight and measure prior to the doctor's visit
- Ensuring reports are filed / scanned daily
- Faxing prescriptions, referrals, medical records and other documents as required to the appropriate area
- Ensuring incoming fax documents are given to the doctors or addressed by office staff in a timely manner
You have :
- Must have a high school diploma in addition to a Medical Office Assistant
- Injection certification is an asset.
- The MOA must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment.
