We are looking for a Revit Specialist Civil Engineering, which is a support engineer in projects with computer-based modeling, field surveys, technical reports, regulations compliance, and communication with stakeholders.
Using Revit and AutoCAD knowledge, understanding of the construction industry, and good judgment, as key assets to become a valuable element of the engineering team.
Job Description
- Assist engineers with site visits in order to conduct a field survey of existing conditions and transfer them into building information model;
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, point clouds, and calculation notes prepared by engineers;
- Generate and design as-built drawings, using Revit in accordance with industry and the company’s internal standards (occasional use of AutoCAD will be required);
- Ensure compliance of drawings with building codes and regulations;
- Experienced in the building permit application process;
- Respond to comments and requests raised by City officials and contractors;
- Assist engineers in preparing engineering reports and memoranda;
- Assist engineers in construction site inspections and writing site inspection reports;
- Perform other technical functions in support of engineering activities;
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Post-secondary education in Civil / Structural Engineering Technology; Certification in engineering technology through relevant provincial association is an asset
- 1 - 3 years of working experience in preparing architectural and / or structural drawings
- Experience with OBC (Ontario Building Code) and NBCC (National Building Code of Canada) is required.
- Strong verbal and written English communication
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred) The ability to perform rudimentary engineering calculations is a great asset, but not necessary
- Demonstrate knowledge of and familiarity with the practice of preparing engineering and architectural drawings.
- Understand building construction processes, practices, and details.
- Read architectural and other discipline-related engineering drawings.
- Become a valued assistant for engineers with drafting and other related tasks.
- Transfer ideas from sketches to drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Put in the necessary effort to excel and succeed in the role.
- Be detail-oriented / almost perfectionist in their work product and a self-starter.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage and overseeing multiple projects
