Purpose of Job
The Senior Director is part of the senior team that will enable EQ Bank’s Challenger Bank aspiration using cloud-native technologies and modern delivery methodologies.
You will drive seamless integration and optimization of EQB’s Technology platforms and processes through leading edge enterprise and data architecture.
You will promote effective data management, operations, governance, analytics, and trust. You will manage multiple cross-functional pods dedicated to supporting the enterprise data needs of the organization, relentlessly pursuing improvements for exceptional customer outcomes and bringing energy to your daily work.
You will lead strategic and roadmap planning, manage a team of 20-30 internal and external resources / suppliers, and be part of C-suite conversations about technology transformation for the Bank.

- Strategic
- Drive and tailor adoption of data strategy, standards, governance, and culture program; shape approach in a manner that is sensitive to organizational dynamics and culture
- Define target state for enterprise data and analytics capabilities, build support for and take-up of innovative, technology and data-led approaches to a highly strategic multi-year enterprise-wide transformation delivering market leading data and analytics platform
- Responsible for the roadmap and planning of resources of the Enterprise Data & Analytics group with Staff Costs around
- Operational
- Assess the state of the organization's data & analytics; benchmark against market and perform gap analysis to achieve strategic objectives
- Provide business specific input and execution for enterprise data, analytics and allied programs
- Establish programs to protect data, improve data quality, promote data ethics, support governance objectives, analytics and democratization
- Stay informed and ensure operations consistently adhere to Risk and Regulatory guidelines, prioritizing safety and quality and compliance
- Relationship Management
- Establish strong partnerships with business and IT stakeholders within EQB and its subsidiaries
- Partner with external stakeholders and vendors to deliver business outcomes
Let's Talk About You
- Business leadership experience and / or qualification (e.g., MBA)
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree
- 10+ years Canadian or US experience in increasingly senior tech roles with proven track record of success in leading teams of 20+ in a highly regulated industry, e.g., Banking, Insurance
- Strong technical skills with 10+ years of experience working within at least 2-3 of the following : Software Development, Business Systems Analysis, QA / AQA, IT Strategy, DevOps
- Expert Agile and SAFE understanding
- Data Governance / DataOps experience
- Data / Information / Reporting & Analytics Architecture experience
- Strong experience with all facets of the SDLC including code & environment management, DevOps, and Automated QA, preferably in MS Azure stack
- Strong track record of project and people management with complex deliverables that drive business outcomes
- Proven managerial leadership skills with inspiring, coaching, and mentoring teams. Demonstrated leadership skills including talent development, succession planning, and performance management
- Exemplary interpersonal, and presentation skills with expert collaboration and customer-relationship skills with a proven ability to engage with all levels of the staff and management across multiple partner teams

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
