This position can be based in our Markham, Ontario on-site location, or remotely from a home-based office anywhere in Canada in accordance with our Work from Home policy.
Summary
The Senior Accountant will assist the Manager, Finance and Accounting, with day-to-day finance operations, ensuring daily functions are completed, and deadlines are met.
Responsibilities :
Complete bank reconciliations daily and ensure all reconciliations are adequately documented at month-end.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly.
Manage regulatory filings for the United States and Canada, including filing HST returns.
Prepare monthly journal entries, including uploading semi-monthly payroll entries to the accounting system.
Reconcile the general ledger to the payroll register. Work with Manager, Payroll & HRIS to review adequacy of bonus and vacation accruals on a quarterly basis.
Maintain weekly Cash Flow forecast.
Assist with the annual financial statements’ audit.
Requirements :
B.A. or B.Comm. degree, or above.
At least 5 years of relevant financial experience.
Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
Good organizational skills, flexible, with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities. Able to manage multiple assignments with challenging / conflicting deadlines.
Detail-oriented and customer-and-quality focused.
Self-starter and thrives in a high-growth and fast-paced environment.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
