Contract Administrator - Municipal Wastewater

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a full-time Contract Administrator to work at one of our municipal wastewater infrastructure construction project sites (wastewater treatment plant in Toronto / East End)

The responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Work with Project Manager, Design Team, Client and Construction Contractor in expediting solutions to technical field problems
• Review construction submittals
• Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and / or code requirements
• Coordinate inspections, provide regular updates to project team and the Client, review and prepare contractor payment applications, and respond to RFI’s.
• Issue RFQs, Change Orders, Change Directives, Site Instructions
• Participate in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changes
• Participate in the resolution of delay and other claims by the contractor
• Participate in and document all construction meetings onsite (progress meeting, commissioning meeting, etc.)
• Participate / coordinate in testing and commissioning activities
• Function as AECOM’s Onsite Safety Officer

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field + 4 years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects
• Contract administration experience
• Registered P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible within 12 months.
• Driving license and access to own vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications :

• 10+ years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and / or site inspection 8
• Understanding of construction project sequencing (e.g., mobilization, shop drawing reviews, construction, start-up and commissioning, project closeout, etc.)
• Able to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and specifications
• Ability to work in teams, respond to changing demands, be decisive under pressure, and can remain calm when interfacing with internal and external personnel
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills
• Supervised construction related to vertical infrastructure (i.e., concrete structures, buildings, process equipment, HVAC and plumbing, electrical works, I&C works).
• Process equipment commissioning experience
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
