French Immersion - Teachers-On-Call

FRENCHIMMERSION TEACHING VACANCIES School District No. 48(Sea to Sky) is currently accepting applications for French Immersion teachersto work on-call in the Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton areas.

Teachers actively work onteacher learning teams using collaborative models of support to co-plan,co-teach and co-assess in an inclusive setting, using invisibleinterventions.

Additionally, teachersmentor students, over time, in reflecting on where their personal interests andstrengths overlap with emerging career-life opportunities in the world.

All teachers must be prepared to use a varietyof technology for planning, attendance monitoring, communicating classroominstruction and reporting, and be prepared to support the School ImprovementPlan and District goals through Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing andthe Four Blankets of Resilience.

SchoolDistrict No.48 (Sea to Sky) prioritizes those candidates who self-identify asIndigenous, LGBTQIA2S+, a member of a visible minority and / or a person with adisability for all positions within the School District.

university training, or its equivalent; and, successful teaching experience Successful applicants must have training and experience in French Immersion and be bilingual.

Familiarity with French Immersion language instruction and familiarity with the BC Curriculum, Student Performance Standards and, the BC Early Learning framework would be an asset.

Salary Range : $308.29 per day to $472.91 per day, based on category as assigned by the Teachers’ Qualification Service (TQS) and previous teaching experience.
