MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work hybrid from one of our clients’ major offices ( Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Burnaby or Langley ).
Our client is a dynamic engineering firm specializing in community infrastructure, offering comprehensive services from planning and design to construction administration.
With expertise in various disciplines including civil engineering, environmental management, and water systems, they combine technical proficiency with a personal touch, ensuring cohesive project teams and exceptional client service.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Electrical Lead to execute design engineering projects, ensuring all requirements and specifications are met.
- Manage workloads and schedules to provide timely deliverables to the project PM and the larger design team, maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines.
- Write detailed technical design reports and construction specifications, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide engineering support during the construction and commissioning phases, troubleshooting issues and ensuring project success.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and assist in responding to RFPs, contributing to business development and project acquisition.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in controls and instrumentation engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution, demonstrating a solid educational foundation.
- Over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in detailed controls and instrumentation systems design within the water / wastewater consulting industry.
- P.Eng. or E.I.T. designation with APEGA, or eligibility to register, ensuring professional accreditation and adherence to industry standards.
- Proficient in applying electrical codes and standards such as ISA and PIP, ensuring designs meet all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Strong familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, Bluebeam (PDF), and design collaboration tools like BIM and Autodesk Construction Cloud, ensuring high-quality, accurate designs.
