Job Description
Responsible for all duties related to the receipt, handling and processing of surgical pathology specimens.
Qualifications

- Current general registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) mandatory
- Recent clinical experience of 3-5 years in Histology required
- Must be proficient in embedding specimens of all complexity
- Must be proficient in microtomy of all specimens not limited to biopsies, smalls and bigs
- Must be proficient in special stains and all aspects of slide review and QC
- Experience in routine Histology procedures and equipment
- Strong working knowledge and experience in immunohistochemistry an asset
- Experience in specimen grossing an asset
- Working knowledge of all Pathology quality assurance and quality controls required
- Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team
- A positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Good employment and attendance record required
Additional Information
Status : Casual
Hours : Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour day shifts; start time between 0600 and 1000 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary : $36.840 to 50.240 per hour
