We are seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator for one of Canada’s largest transportation companies. This role is based in Port Coquitlam, BC, and requires a strong background in logistics and transportation, including experience with LTL, FTL, and cross-border shipping.
Key Responsibilities :
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL shipments.
- Source and manage carrier relationships, ensuring top service and pricing.
- Coordinate and oversee daily shipments, tracking and tracing loads from pickup to delivery.
- Liaise with customers and carriers to facilitate timely and efficient transportation services.
- Ensure the Transportation Management System (TMS) is up-to-date with accurate shipment data.
- Respond to customer requests and issues with urgency and attention to detail.
- Handle any shipment delays, security issues, or other challenges promptly.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Assist in margin improvement through cost management and optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams on rates, pricing, and carrier qualifications.
Qualifications :
- Experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on cross-border full-truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping.
- Previous experience in a third-party logistics (3PL) or transportation brokerage role.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
