Role Overview(s) :

We are seeking a dynamic Product Manager to lead our efforts in regulatory compliance. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in this area, the Product Manager will be pivotal in managing the entire product lifecycle from innovation and design to development and business analysis.

The role will involve enhancing existing services, introducing new features, refining product-related processes, optimizing cost structures, conducting environmental scans and driving product performance.

The Product Manager will collaborate closely with our technical, sales, and marketing teams, as well as our customers, to execute effective go-to-market strategies.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical skills and domain expertise, ensuring our products remain at the forefront of the industry.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Product Development : Lead the development and enhancement of existing and new products, solutions, and features.
  • Revenue Generation : Ensure product relevance and provide SME / presales support to help with achievement of target revenues.
  • Regulatory Compliance Expertise : Prior experience in regulatory compliance is a must.
  • Financial Understanding : Responsible for P&L, Commercial / Billing.

Job Responsibilities & Duties :

1. Product Strategy

  • Support Product Strategy and Vision : Contribute to the formulation and execution of the Trade Business product strategy for the North American market.
  • Product Lifecycle Management : Oversee product planning and development throughout its lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and defining the product vision.
  • User Stories and Testing : Create detailed user stories based on product specifications and requirements, and lead user test sessions to validate solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership : Collaborate with UI / UX designers, developers, the business team, and other stakeholders to address identified issues and deliver value to users.
  • Performance Analysis : Provide comprehensive analysis and management reports on product performance compared to competitors and overall market trends.
  • Regulatory Compliance Knowledge Base : Compile internal resources to build a regulatory compliance knowledge base and produce documents that educate internal and external stakeholders on compliance matters.

2. Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Market Research : Identify market opportunities and gaps through research to shape the Trade Business product roadmap.
  • Competitive Analysis : Conduct competitive scans, financial analysis, and recommend product functions and strategies to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Performance Monitoring : Track and analyze product performance against key competitors, and initiate planning sessions, strategies, and actions to counteract threats.
  • Industry Awareness : Stay informed about international developments in trade facilitation.

3. Customer Strategy

  • User-Centric Solutions : Transform customer pain points and requirements into viable solutions that address their needs.
  • Feedback Collection : Gather feedback on current products, assess areas for improvement, and recommend enhancements.
  • Compliance Consultation : Work with attorneys and other professionals on regulatory compliance matters.

4. Financial Strategy

Product Roadmap Development : Create product roadmap that aligns with financial targets, including budgeted revenues, margins, revenue drivers, and market share goals.

Education Requirements

Degree : Bachelor in supply chain, Logistics, Business, IT, or a related field.

Working Experience Requirements :

  • Industry Experience : Over 7 years of experience in supply chain management, customs compliance, global trade, and logistics.
  • IT Experience : More than 5 years of experience in IT solutions.

Skills Required : Must-have skills

Must-have skills

  • Language Proficiency : Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certificates : Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and Licensed Broker
  • Customer Solution Translation : Strong ability to translate customer requirements into comprehensive documentation.
  • Technical Communication : Skilled in writing use cases and user stories to convey customer needs to technical teams.
  • Business Acumen : Ability to contribute to revenue growth, with a proven track record of thriving under pressure, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Experience in managing, operating, or implementing regulatory compliance services or solutions.
  • Customs Experience : Experience with Canadian and US Customs programs - ACE, ACI, IID / CARM, RNS etc.

Preferable skills

Methodology Expertise : Familiarity with Agile methodologies in solution implementation and UX development is advantageous.
