How You Will Make Contributions That Matter :
- Responsible for payroll processing activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll output.
- Work in partnership with the Sr. Payroll Manager on the development of the strategic direction regarding HR policies and practices and system integrations.
- Actively participates in the day-to-day payroll activities and payroll processing cycle.
- Directly supervises, coaches, and develops payroll team members (direct reports).
- Maintain and participate in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Work with the Accounting Department to reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts.
- Responsible for other payroll processing activities; including stock options, bonus processing, T&E and other.
- Responsible in coordinating and reviewing internal and external audits in collaboration with the audit team, finance, operations, and the payroll team.
- Provide support to the operational plants for any basic Kronos requests, payroll inquiries including any ad-hoc requests.
- Assist with any quarterly, and annual tax balancing activities for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Adhere to company audit standards for payroll processing and identify issues which are considered a risk by following established procedures and maintaining confidentiality in compliance with Saputo’s policies various federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Collaborate with other functional areas on payroll issues and projects, including HR, Benefits & IT.
- Lead the payroll team in the year-end process to ensure timely and accurate year-end documents.
- Other projects as assigned related to new payroll features and / or system upgrades.
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications :

- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting (or equivalent Business-related degree)
- Certified Payroll Professional designation (or equivalent)
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in payroll related processes / leadership experience and a minimum of 4 years managerial experience.
- Management skills : ability to motivate / manage performance of others.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and payroll principles.
- Working knowledge of wage rules at the state and federal levels.
- ADP’s Enterprise application and knowledge of Workday is an asset.
Hybrid work environment with the possibility to work from home 2 days a week
As part of his duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America.
