Scope of Position
EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience.
We deliver grid-scale power : wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power : solar and storage;
asset optimization : technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company’s PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers : solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.
The Accountant position will be responsible for accounting, coordination and compilation of audit requests, analysis, and financial reporting, as required.
This role will assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual management, profit and loss analytics, statement of cash flow analysis (if applicable), and standardized month-end journal entry processing under IFRS and other reviews of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the roles assigned relating to monthly, quarterly and annual close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately, including journal entries and ledger maintenance activities.
- Complete assigned schedules, including workpapers, ensuring relevant account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.
- Reconcile related party invoices, including timesheet consumption reporting and ensure supporting documentation is obtained.
Prepare capital call requests to shareholders and reconcile capital accounts.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or his / her designee.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in-progress or designated, OR legacy Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant designation (CGA).
- A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working within an accounting department (public practice, from a mid-tier or Big 4 CA / CPA firm);
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel; and
- Previous experience successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements :
Three days of the week will be working in-person, in office in the Calgary downtown core. The remainder of the work week will be remote or in the office at the employee’s discretion.
