Our client is a global publicly-listed organization with a complex, exciting, and interesting story- SWIM can fill you in! The company is based in Vancouver and also has major operations overseas.

The employee population size in Vancouver is approximately 60 people, in a mix of corporate departments such as accounting & finance, tax, legal, administration, IT, HR, etc.

Total company size of well over 1000 employees. This company has a reputation in Vancouver and beyond for hiring top talent, and for providing their employees with interesting and challenging work in a positive and professional environment.

What- the Opportunity :

On behalf of our client, SWIM is seeking an International Tax Analyst . This is a very well-rounded tax role involving tax planning, global tax risk, analyzing large-scale projects for tax costs, tax filings and compliance, monitoring corporate governance requirements, etc.

Who- the Candidate :

  • At least 3 years progressive experience in corporate taxation (International, Canadian, US, or Cross-Border tax)
  • CPA accounting designation (or International equivalent) is required.
  • Pursuit of In-depth Income Tax Course and / or a Master’s degree in Tax is a significant asset, not required.
  • Training in a public practice firm is preferred.
  • Although beneficial, exposure to public listed companies is not a must, and you may have experience working with private enterprises.
  • Systems : High level of proficiency in Excel is required, including financial modeling skills.
  • There are a lot of deadlines to juggle in this role; therefore, excellent time management and organizational skills along with a process improvement mindset are all crucial.
  • Top-notch communication skills are important- ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across many countries.

Where :

Headquartered in the centre of downtown Vancouver’s financial district. Beautiful corporate offices with a great view! For the first couple months, the Analyst will likely want to work full-time as they establish relationships with their colleagues and learn about the core components of the role and company.

As the norm, the company working policy is 3 days a week in the office. Open to hiring a candidate who currently lives elsewhere in Canada but wants to move to Vancouver.

How Much :

Base salary commensurate with relevant work experience, skills, education, and relevant tax credentials- in the range of $90,000 to $106,000.
