Experience General Labourers Wanted

We are hiring 10+ General Labourers and 5+ Installers / Experienced Furniture Movers to join our client's team. This position involves emptying and setting up a new office space.

It offers a starting wage of $20 per hour, with guaranteed work until March 2025. Candidates with experience in installation and furniture moving may be eligible for premium pay.

Schedule : Monday to Friday, day shifts, with opportunities for overtime.

Our client requires each candidate to be eligible to pass a Reliability Clearance minimum. To meet this requirement, candidates must :

Have lived in Canada for a minimum of 5 years.

Not have been outside Canada for more than a total of 6 months during these 5 years.

Possess at least a valid work permit, canadian permanent residency, or canadian residency.

Have a clean criminal record.

Be able to provide two pieces of ID, one of which must be a birth certificate (health card not eligible.

A valid forklift license is a significant asset for these positions.

Please note : Candidates must be able to commute independently to the job location on Heron Road.

Responsibilities

Disassemble and Reassemble Furniture : Safely disassemble and reassemble office furniture, including desks, chairs, cabinets, and partitions.

Loading and Unloading : Safely load and unload office furniture and equipment onto trucks for transportation to and from the site.

Office Setup : Assist in setting up new office spaces according to layout plans, ensuring furniture and equipment are placed in the correct locations.

Packing and Unpacking : Carefully pack and unpack office items, including files, equipment, and furniture, ensuring that all items are securely wrapped and protected during transit.

Handling and Moving Equipment : Use proper lifting techniques and tools (like dollies and moving straps) to move heavy items efficiently and safely.

Installing Fixtures and Equipment : Install office fixtures, such as shelving, partitions, and whiteboards, following layout plans and safety guidelines.

Maintaining Safety Standards : Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent injury and damage to items during moves.

Coordinating with Team Members : Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient office moves and setups.

Qualifications

Experience in Moving or Installation : Previous experience in office moving, furniture installation, or related physical labor is highly preferred.

Physical Stamina : Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more) for extended periods.

Mechanical Aptitude : Familiarity with hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, power drills) and the ability to assemble and disassemble furniture and equipment.

Forklift License : A valid forklift license is a significant asset for handling materials and equipment more efficiently.

Teamwork Skills : Ability to work well in a team, coordinate tasks with others, and follow directions to ensure an efficient workflow.

Attention to Detail : Ability to follow layout plans accurately and ensure that all furniture and equipment are properly assembled and installed.

Basic Problem-Solving : Ability to troubleshoot issues with furniture assembly or equipment setup and adjust to changing client needs.

Reliability Clearance Eligibility : Must meet the requirements for reliability clearance, which includes :

Punctuality and Dependability : A strong work ethic, with a focus on being punctual and completing tasks efficiently.

Valid Work Permit : At least a valid work permit for those without permanent residency or citizenship in Canada.
