The Manager, Data Governance and Operations contributes to the overall success of the Global Retail and Wealth Chief Data Office.
The role supports the Director and Sr. Manager, Data Governance by providing support and leadership for Data Management training program, ensuring individual & departmental goals, and initiatives are delivered as per Bank's Data Strategy.
We are seeking a motivated and engaging self-starter to support the execution data management activities for Canadian and International banking stakeholders with a focus on strong relationship management.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will :
Data Governance Support / Data Quality (50%) :
- Works with Global Retail CDO Delivery Leads to support business and technology partners with Data Management strategies.
- Oversight of Data Quality Issue Management process to ensure issues are assigned & resolved in a timely manner.
- Support Data Management Execution Leads & Data Stewards to ensure successful application of Data policies, standards & procedures for prioritized use cases focusing on data management / data governance rollout.
- Manage portfolio level reporting for all Global Retail and Wealth team's data initiatives including monitoring of risks / issues, publishing reports & problem resolution as required.
- Facilitate & follow up on annual attestation processes to ensure domain data management artifacts are kept up to date.
- Assist with creation, implementation & maintenance of training documentation including operational guides, user guides and supporting process documents to ensure alignment with central Data Office policies, standards, and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement and Support (50%) :
- Act as point of contact to support the Country's Local data office in terms of understanding data quality / data governance requirements and concerns.
- Coordinate and support Country heads of Data communications strategy and related initiatives, including creating awareness of CID&A, communicating changes related to policies & standards, tooling, training etc., and sharing ideas.
- Responsible for managing the internal website and Training resource center- create sustainment plan, design & upload contextual content and keep the website up to date
- Lead, organize, develop, and deliver training on data management, data governance, and other enterprise tool applications.
- Help identify & maintain stakeholder / user lists, collect user information, create matrices to onboard users to enterprise tools and ensures overall onboarding onto the tool is completed including granting access and delivery of required training.
- Identify, recommend, and support development of improvements to enhance overall operational efficiency and positive impact for the stakeholders, and the bank.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with :
- University degree (University degree or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years' proven understanding of data governance and data management activities
- Strong business acumen for understanding data quality controls specifically with respect to analyzing business process controls, identifying data quality issues and proposing remediation steps
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of PowerBI and SharePoint is an asset
- Well-developed communication skills including precise articulation of ideas and opinions
- Possess strong business acumen in data quality control, with expertise in analyzing business processes
- Familiar with Data Management Tools (Universal catalog, Governance Console)
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) Required
