Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Executive Director, Scheduling, Planning, and Constructability who will be responsible for all TI Corp project scheduling, planning and constructability.

This pivotal role will oversee the development and management of all integrated master project schedules, forensic schedules, and shadow schedules, and conduct schedule analysis to identify delays and proposing corrective actions and optimization opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the delivery planning, scheduling and constructability management within the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Oversees the development and management of the integrated master project schedule(s) by integrating project schedules and data supplied by contractors and incorporate logic associated with owner-led work and milestones.
  • Develops, implements, and manages an effective forensic schedule program to meet increasingly complex claims.
  • Oversees the development, management, and operational use of shadow schedules across projects to support TI Corp effectively and efficiently in claims management.
  • Oversees and ensures that the Planning and Scheduling team is providing discipline expertise and recommendations both corporately and across project teams.
  • Responsible for managing consultant contracts related to scheduling and constructability to achieve consistency and best practices in support of corporate governance.
  • Provides strategic advice to corporate and project executives relying on their expertise to better inform decision makers.
  • Key contributor to technical reviews during the procurement phases to overlay proponent submissions on the Business Case Schedules.
  • Develops and manages project schedules through the procurement phase, supporting TI Corp project teams and disciplines to meet soft and hard deadlines up through Contract Award.
  • Supports business case and procurement of future projects by developing detailed project construction schedules, modeling potential construction methodologies and identifying potential construction related risks.
  • Leads the periodic review and update of the Project Controls Management Plans including sub-plans and procedures, specifically the Schedule and Cost Management Procedure.
  • Manages Scheduling resources to adapt to project needs, and ensures effective team integration with other disciplines and project teams.
  • Leads project schedule discussions with Project Co. and stakeholders.
  • Works and reports to Ministry, Executive, EPDs and APDs, and Project Co as appropriate, on project needs and develops a strategy to ensure optimal management of project schedules including potential risks and opportunities.
  • Oversees, develops, and implements performance metrics to track Project Co.’s progress and verify future projections for work completion.
  • Supervise staff including assignment of work, development and evaluation of career and performance plans, approvals of leave, response to grievances and initiation of discipline processes.
  • Ensures the team and organization is sufficiently educated and informed with changing trends, procurement models and future technologies and software to continue to improve TI Corp scheduling and planning.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and extensive experience that includes scheduling / planning, procurement, and construction for large civil infrastructure projects or, an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in early phase construction planning and sequencing, ideally in a design-build environment.
  • Experience in maintaining multiple active construction schedules and supervising development of future project schedules.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management approaches and design / build project methodology.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, MS Project, Word).
  • Skilled in the use of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Skilled in the use of TILOS would be an asset.
  • Skilled in the use of Acumen Fuse would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills and, attention to detail.
  • Successful completion of security screening will be required as a condition of employment with TI Corp.
