Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Kitchener has a great opportunity for a Senior Accountant. The successful incumbent will oversee & ensure proper internal controls of the finance administrative activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, and General Accounting.
Support the Finance Manager with various reporting requirements & the administration of the fiscal period processes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the cash reporting : weekly function
- Supervise the month end close process in accordance with corporate timelines.
- Lead general accounting function, including reconciliations of general ledger accounts, A / R, A / P, recurring journal entries.
- Ensure the accuracy of all department processes to the various accounts.
- Perform daily review of all revenue streams, costing transactions for accuracy and investigation of discrepancies and unusual transactions.
- Manage & reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Identify, review and implement process improvement initiatives
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports
- Support the external audit process and corporate enquiries.
- Monthly HST and WSIB reporting
- Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Position Requirements
- University / college degree in business or related field.
- 5 to 10 years work experience in similar position, preferably in manufacturing
- Professional Accounting designation or pursuing.
- Proficient with Cincom, CODA or similar ERP systems
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office products
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, management regulations & compliance
- Training, inspecting work and coaching skills
- Knowledge of spreadsheet & accounting procedures
- Effective interpersonal skills
