About the role

We’re looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Support, (12-month secondment) to join our growing team!

As Shared Admin Services, Unit Claims Manager you will have a big impact on the successful management of its operation. This role would be ideal for someone looking to progress their leadership career within Accident Benefits.

Working within our hybrid model, in-office location can be in either of the following offices; Toronto, or Mississauga,.

What you'll do here :

  • Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and manage operations to achieve key business goals within Shared Admin Services
  • Provide effective leadership, motivate staff and be responsible for hiring and delivering employee performance feedback
  • Provide coaching on technical and professional skills for your team and facilitate continuous learning by building robust development plans for your employees
  • Develop, recommend, and implement management and / or organizational initiatives to support company strategies including changes to organizational structure and process / technology improvements
  • Conduct Quality Review monthly and provide feedback and / or training
  • Monitor and ensure service level compliance and report regularly on productivity, service and specific goals and objectives
  • Reallocate resources when required and demonstrate flexibility in tasks completed
  • Maintain a respectful and productive business relationship with vendors, service providers, legal firms and internal client groups

  • Proven leadership skills, taking initiative and the ability to coach and develop others
  • Experience with effective collaboration across the organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient at multi-tasking and prioritizing
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Analytical skills to deal with policy, legal and regulatory interpretation and implementation
  • University Degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
