Property Administration Accountant
Our client in the insurance industry is seeking a skilled professional to support the corporate real estate division, overseeing complex accounting functions related to property administration.
Working with a collaborative team in a hybrid environment, this role provides the opportunity to build valuable industry connections and gain hands-on experience managing financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting for a high-profile real estate portfolio.
What is in it for you :
- Salaried : $33 to $40 per hour.
- Incorporated Business Rate : $40 to $48 per hour.
- 13-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
- Full-time position : 37.50 hours per week.
- Weekday schedule from or 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am to 5 pm.
- Hybrid work : 3 office days, from Tuesday to Thursday.

Responsibilities :
- Set up job budgets, monitor costs, and ensure timely completion with authorized approvals.
- Conduct high-level financial analysis on the real estate portfolio, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to management.
- Perform monthly closing entries, including operating reports, journal entries, revenue recording, and accruals.
- Analyze the General Ledger monthly to verify accuracy and ensure transaction completeness.
- Prepare and submit quarterly / monthly forecasts and variance analyses.
- Manage and record asset depreciation, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Gather data for comprehensive yearly budgets aligned with organizational goals.
- Perform year-end variance analysis in collaboration with property management.
- Review and approve quarterly lease reports and provide ad hoc reports as needed.
What you will need to succeed :
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate Management, or a related field.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in accounting within the real estate industry.
- Strong understanding of property management, accounting, and administration concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building collaborative relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- CPA designation or active CPA student status is also preferred.
- Preferred experience with Yardi software.
- Preferred experience with Procore software.
- Preferred experience with Prism software. .
