Position Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced PR account manager to join our team based in Toronto and be actively involved in all areas of account services to tartanbond clients and support the senior team.
You will be joining an experienced and dynamic team and this role will help to deliver creative PR, media relations, and press trip activity, being hands on in the day-to-day supporting of accounts, contributing to the continued growth and success of the team while building your own skillset.

Role responsibilities
- Working on strategic plans and decisions for client portfolios as well as proactively managing any client or media crisis or issue that arises on behalf of the agency
- Building, maintaining and nurturing existing relationships with top-level local, national and international media to secure client coverage, across sectors including;
travel & tourism, hospitality, lifestyle and others
- Hosting events, dinners, meet and greet site tours and media / influencer trips
- Planning and executing media and influencer drops, gifting and sponsorship opportunities as well as all client facing activities;
weekly briefing calls, reports and strategic planning meetings
- Working closely with the agency director on business development activities to secure new clients and PR projects, helping to build pitches / proposals, engaging in research and participating on presentations when required
- Mentoring and overseeing junior members of the team and work closely with agency partners to ensure they meet agency standards and best practices
Required skills
- 4+ years’ experience in PR or related industry role
- Previous account management experience
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, MailerLite (or similar marketing programmes)
- Competent at using Microsoft Office and cloud-based software
- Have an understanding of the Canadian media landscape and beyond
- Established network of media and influencer contacts and proven track record of securing media coverage
Advantageous skills
- Have an understanding of traditional and digital communications platforms
- Previous experience working in an agency
- Travel / hospitality experience
- Event planning experience
- Ideally a college diploma / university degree in PR, Journalism, Digital Marketing or Marketing
