Adecco is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Process Engineer for a full-time permanent role with our client in Ottawa, ON.
This role will be hybrid set up. 3 days on-site from 10 to 3 Tuesday to Thursday
The Mechanical Process Engineer will have the following responsibilities :
- Screen opportunities, complete preliminary and detailed heat and mass balances and cost estimates to develop value statements for clients / potential clients;
- Collect / gather / measure / validate key flows and temperatures and other parameters as required to fully define costs and savings related to projects;
- Develop and design process and all related controls and elements for a fully functioning system;
- Sizing of proprietary TEI heat recovery and energy efficiency equipment, fans, pumps, valves, piping, ductwork, and other elements required for a complete project;
- Prepare project documentation including drawings and specifications as required;
Support or prepare drawings for construction including system P&IDs, mechanical flow diagrams, equipment and piping layouts, installation details.
Conduct field investigations, measurements, and surveys to obtain drawings and data required to produce project drawings.
Complete field surveys of existing building conditions.
Support and lead coordination meetings and coordinate design with other engineering disciplines.
Interface with clients, contractors, internal and external engineering resources to coordinate project design and implementation.
Participate in and lead site tours with contractors during bid period and assist with the review of tenders / bids.
Attend site meetings, perform site visits, prepare site visit reports and deficiency reports.
Participate in and lead warranty inspections.
Prepare addenda, site instructions, contemplated change notices and review C.C.N. pricing as required.
Review and respond to requests for information.
Review shop drawings, progress draws, record drawings and maintenance manuals.
Lead and participate in commissioning as required.
Review your own work for completeness and accuracy and coordinate work of junior drafts people.
Provide direction to team members when needed and coordinate with your team members.
The Mechanical Process Engineer must meet the following mandatory requirements :
10 to 20 years’ experience in process and systems design and other specialty systems.
Experience with site visits and preparing site visit reports.
Proficient and computer literate including proficient MS Word, Excel and email skills.
Drafting and drawing management skills using AutoCAD platform.
Mechanical, Chemical, or other pertinent engineering degree.
Professional Engineering designation an asset.
Fluently bilingual candidate (French / English) in both verbal and written communication forms is preferred, Spanish and German also benefits.
Advanced analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of relevant building and other relevant codes and standards
Working knowledge of ductwork, pipe sizing and design
Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
Ability to frequently travel and work in Canada, the USA, and abroad.
