The Allied Health Services (AHS) team, under Professional Practice consists of Regulated Healthcare Professional including : Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Social Work, Registered Dietitians, Respiratory Therapy, as well as unregulated Rehabilitation Assistants.
Each discipline is focused on driving evidence informed practice to promote high quality patient and family centered care.
The team has a Professional Practice Leader (PPL) model for each regulated allied health discipline which promotes and enhances the interprofessional team.
Each discipline has their own PPL with dedicated time to enhance their communities of practice, represent their respective disciplines at committees, create policies & procedures and lead corporate level initiatives.
RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil.

We are currently seeking a temporary part time Occupational Therapist ( 0.4FTE September 2023- January 2025)
The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy services as part of an interdisciplinary care team supporting our acute inpatient surgical units.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements :
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program or university with a clinical Masters in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) - required
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is mandatory
- Member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is preferred
- Evidence of continuing education in Acute Care Occupational Therapy required
- Completion of training certification for MoCA testing is required
- Recent Occupational Therapy experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and / or rehabilitation setting
- A strong theoretical and practical knowledge of OT role and scope in promoting functional independence and occupational performance in acute care setting
- Knowledge of community services, supports, and acute care flow is beneficial
- Knowledge of referral process to follow-up services such as rehabilitation, community supports, rehabilitation day program, home and community care, complex-continuing care, or repatriation to discharge destination
