The Consolidations team plays a pivotal role in supporting the financial function and reporting requirements of Brookfield Renewable, and we’re looking a Student.
In this role you will be part of a fun and collaborative team of accounting professionals working together to compile high quality consolidated financial information that will be used across the business.
As a key member of the team, you are an energetic and collaborative individual who is goal oriented and strives to continually learn and challenge themselves.
Through the Consolidations team you will gain direct exposure to some of Brookfield Renewable’s most unique and exciting new transactions.
These include but are not limited to global asset acquisitions, dispositions, financings, etc. while getting the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and execution of the monthly and quarterly consolidation and close process that drives the financial statements of Brookfield Renewable
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and analysis to support financial statement figures, disclosures and management reporting.
- Collaborate regularly with regional accounting teams, global platforms and other corporate departments on various related activities
- Assist in the review of quarterly accounting reports received from regional accounting teams to ensure consistency and accuracy, and provide timely feedback
- Review intercompany reports to ensure the proper elimination of intercompany transactions, investment in subsidiaries, etc.
- Preparation of various recurring and ad-hoc reports used for a wide range internal reporting to management and other departments
Knowledge Required
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program;
- Completed minimum first year university studies in Commerce / Business Administration concentrating in accounting;
- Financial and accounting knowledge, preferably with some familiarity of IFRS and U.S. GAAP;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Note : Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days to perform most effectively.
