The Department of Biochemistry is a dynamic community of 70 faculty, 150 graduatestudents and 450 undergraduate students.

As Laboratory Technician, you will support the Dr. Hyun Lee's lab, focusing on how non-membranous organelles are regulated in cells and how their dysregulation impacts cellular health and function.
Relying on your sharp technical and organizational skills, you will work closely with Dr. Lee and members of the team to help advance our mission and research.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Constructing proof of concept experiments to test different elements of the process
- Preparing statistical reports and summaries from data collected
- Providing detailed explanations and demonstrating procedures to students / employees on lab techniques, experimental procedures, and protocols
- Applying knowledge of lab maintenance procedures and safety precautions including hand washing, sterilization, proper equipment care, etc.
Essential Qualifications :
- Bachelors of Science (B.Sc.) in relevant science field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum one year relevant experience in a molecular biology or biochemistry lab
- Experience following rules and procedural instructions with sterilization, handwashing and cleaning procedures related to lab maintenance
- Experience with providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
- Demonstrated experience interpreting experimental results, trouble-shooting experiments, and managing conflicting priorities and deadlines
- Experience maintaining laboratory records, and collecting, maintaining and verifying laboratory results
- Experience maintaining shared laboratory spaces and equipment
- Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills; and ability to exercise sound judgement
- Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to exercise initiative and deal effectively with a diverse group of colleagues
- Ability to work under pressure with scientific deadlines
- Excellent manual dexterity required
