Main Responsibilities :
- Develop in-depth knowledge of application requirements, software architecture, and design specifications
- Actively participate in the development and review of system requirements to obtain a thorough understanding of user needs
- Advise on User Experience design and User Interface development practices and tools
- Provide development activities level of effort and duration estimates for planning and scheduling
- Work with development leads to design user interfaces that meet system requirements and provide outstanding user experiences.
Create wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes.
- Develop UI source code following established company standards and development guidelines
- Conduct interface usability assessment, quality assurance, and debugging support
- Provide regular updates to management on work in progress, work completed, work planned and issues potentially impacting the timely completion or quality level of work
- Contribute to user documentation
Education and Experience required :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience working in UI / UX and software development
- Strong programming skills in relevant industry standard languages (e.g. Java, Javascript, Python, C#, etc.)
- Experience with UI frameworks, in particular Angular and React
- Familiarity with User Experience best practices
- Knowledge of multi-lingual interfaces
- Familiarity with agile development and software lifecycles
- Creative problem-solving skills and strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Javascript, Angular, React; Balsamiq, Figma, Adobe suite; Visual Studio Code or some other Integrated Development Environment;
Web-hosted applications; Unit tests

Decision Making and Supervision :
In this role, the incumbent will have influence on the design and implementation of user interfaces for Lightspeed System Operations software tools.
They will need to make recommendations and decisions based on their knowledge and experience.
This role has no direct reports, but will work and interact with multi-disciplinary engineering and commercial teams.
Working Conditions :
- Working conditions are typical of an office environment.
- Hybrid workplace model with three days a week in the office, and working from home for the rest. This policy is subject to change.
- A developer-grade laptop will be provided.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP) .
