Department Summary

The Business Development, Sales and Marketing organization operates across Canada, building trusted business relationships with decision-makers at all levels of government.

Our mission is to expand Maximus Canada business with our current government clients and grow the business with new clients.

Working within a Business to Government (B2G) model, we develop awareness and interest with our target audience of government policy leaders, match our business offerings to the needs of our current and prospective clients, build trust with key stakeholders at meetings and events, and participate in complex and multi-step government procurement processes.

Position Summary

As a Director, Sales Operations you will be responsible for working closely with the Business Development team to provide stronger analytical capabilities and process improvement to help grow revenue from our existing and new accounts.

In this role, you will streamline our sales processes, optimize performance, and provide strategic support to our sales organization.

You will work closely with National Leader of Business Development and Growth as well as cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and enable our sales professionals to achieve their targets.

Your typical week at Maximus

  • Sales Process Optimization : Analyze and enhance sales processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting : Collect, analyze, and interpret sales data to identify trends, performance metrics, and opportunities for improvement.

Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards for sales leadership

  • Sales Forecasting : Utilize statistical models and predictive analytics to develop accurate sales forecasts, helping to inform resource allocation and strategic planning
  • CRM Administration : Oversee the management of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring data accuracy and effective utilization by the sales team.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with marketing, finance, and product teams to support lead generation efforts and ensure alignment on sales initiatives.
  • Performance Analysis : Monitor sales performance metrics and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Budget Management : Assist in the preparation and management of the sales budget, tracking expenses and ROI on sales initiatives.
  • Project Management : Lead special projects related to sales operations, including system upgrades and process improvements.

  • Ability to identify gaps and optimization opportunities across our business development processes and data driven insights to then define and drive improvement opportunities
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements across the Business Development and operations teams in order to ultimately deliver on organization-wide revenue growth.
  • Drive improvements for the Business Development team to be more effective and efficient through improved sales operations (process and workflow) improvements
  • Able to represent Maximus confidently and professionally in competitive procurement processes, quickly building a rapport with clients, potential clients, and team members.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains knowledge of Maximus Canada and the broader Maximus business areas.
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office365 suite
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years in sales operations, sales management, or related field, preferably supporting Public Sector / Government verticals
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Excel, and data analysis tools (Power BI). Experience with sales analytics tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical mindset and capabilities with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven recommendations / decisions
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement and procurement processes
