A comprehensive Business Continuity Program is imperative for an organization to maintain critical operations, prepare for emerging risk and minimize customer and employee impact of a disruptive business event.
The Business Continuity Management Unit 'BCMU' Specialist contributes to the success of this program, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will :
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Provides support and recommendations to Relationship Managers and Planners based on BCM Policy, BCMU Mandate and industry best practices.
- Complete health checks on plans in preparation for semi-annual reporting and maintain spreadsheet to facilitate accurate reporting.
- Reviews and ensures closure for OSFI regulatory requirement for the recovery time objective process.
- Partners with relevant stakeholders across the Bank on the implementation of a governance structure that spans the business continuity lifecycle, including the creation and enhancement of business continuity management programs and systems.
- Supports the Senior Manager and Director of the BCMU as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with focus on the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Management function
- Leads and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on processes focused on Business Continuity Management, with the objective to create an improved end state by : 1) Contribute to and / or reviewing BCM material, BCM documents, including but not limited to the BCM Policy, Mandate, Training material and Planner's Guide, ensuring content is applicable to target audiences and aligns with overall program objectives.
2) Working as a collaborative and strategic partner to business lines to increase their preparation for an incident that may affect their ability to continue business as usual by conducting health checks on plans and / or the BCP application data.
3) Maintains key notification lists, training and on-call schedules. 4) Administers changes to business continuity plans.

- 2+ years working in the financial industry
- Bilingual - English & Spanish required
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communication writing skills and report preparation
- Flexible and creative thinker with the ability to define business tradeoffs, generate out-of-the-box solutions and manage uncertainty;
proactively identify and solve complex problems impacting management and business direction
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize against many competing interests in an environment of constant change
