Interim Strategic Advisor - Organizational Development & Change Management

Reports to : Chief Operating Officer

Duration : 12 Months

Location : Toronto, ON

Hybrid working

Our client, a complex Canadian not-for-profit organization is seeking an experienced professional to add capacity and capability to their team as they embark on a critical organizational transformation.

This is a unique and exciting time for our client as they transition their mandate and will be completely changing their operating model over the next 5 years.

This position is a great opportunity to use your experience in organizational development and change management, to bring your strong operational and process mindset to a large organizational transformation.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Work with the COO and other key stakeholders to select the best change model to support the operational transformation.
  • Optimize the current change model governance to provide additional ready, willing and able tools.
  • Develop a grading process for change.
  • Revise the Change Integration Committee and creating a company-wide change agenda.
  • Revise the governance, processes, and tools to align with the selected change model.
  • Identify the key measure of success (e.g., key indicators, follow assessment approach, close-out review, etc.).
  • Support the development and delivery of a training package to roll out to staff.
  • Implement the change model target date June 2025.
  • Support the implementation and effectiveness of change post rollout.
  • Quarterback with all the other members of the operational transformation team to ensure transparency and collaboration across the organization.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of organizational and functional competencies to support organizational goals, while enabling the delivery of high value-add to clients.
  • Subject matter expert providing guidance for executives and senior leadership related to organizational development and effectiveness initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Embrace continuous improvement; promote governance, and the use of data and analytics to drive accountability, learn and adapt to meet changing needs.
  • Manage programs and projects to ensure timely delivery and cost effectiveness (analytics, tracking and reporting on operational performance and agreed metrics).

Qualifications & Education :

  • A minimum of 5 years direct organizational development experience at a senior level.
  • Change management certification or designation would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management with a proven track record of leading successful organizational change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of organizational culture to support change initiatives.
  • Subject matter expertise in change management principles, methodologies, and tools is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent command of the English, both written and verbal.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Results oriented.
  • All the other expectations one would expect of a senior subject matter expert (communication, inter-personal skills, leadership, etc).
