Globe 24-7 in partnership with their client in Toronto, Canada is looking to add an IT Manager to their team.
Position Overview
A mining company is seeking an experienced IT Manager with a strong background in SAP, project management, and maintenance systems.
This role is crucial in implementing a complex maintenance management system and supporting SAP operations for a French-speaking team in West Africa.
Occasional travel to the region will be required to meet with local teams and support on-site needs. Candidates with mining or heavy industry experience are preferred, with extensive large-scale SAP experience considered a significant asset.
This role is ideal for an IT professional eager to apply their expertise in a global, project-focused environment. You’ll have the opportunity to lead critical system implementations, provide SAP expertise, and collaborate closely with the team in West Africa to drive successful project outcomes.
The Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Maintenance System Rollout : Spearhead the implementation of a robust maintenance management system, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and smooth rollout across all locations, with a focus on West Africa.
- SAP Expertise & Assistance : Serve as the primary point of contact for SAP, supporting the team in West Africa with system functionalities, troubleshooting, and hands-on training to improve efficiency and system usability.
- IT Infrastructure Oversight : Manage and maintain the company’s IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and fully support business operations.
Address technical challenges quickly, especially those affecting core business functions.
Training & Collaboration : Work directly with the West African team to deliver tailored training in French and ensure effective communication.
Support system adoption and assist in resolving any user-related issues.
- Project Leadership : Manage the full lifecycle of key IT projects, particularly related to SAP and maintenance systems, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with clear communication to all stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Coordination : Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and effective support.
Cultivate strong working relationships across all departments to meet business objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of IT management experience, with a focus on SAP implementation and support in large-scale environments.
- Proven expertise in maintenance management systems, including full-cycle implementation and integration.
- Background in mining, heavy industry, or similar sectors is highly advantageous.
- Fluency in French, with strong communication skills to support teams in West Africa.
- Demonstrated project management skills, with a successful history of leading complex IT projects to completion.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to West Africa for relationship building and on-site support.
- Experience addressing IT challenges in remote or developing regions.
- Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams and adapt to diverse cultural environments.
