Job Description
Being a critical member of the Infrastructure team as a database administrator overseeing production and non-production databases.
Our technology stack is hosted in the cloud and we use managed database solutions wherever suitable. Collaborate with software development teams to design data management and governance protocols, manage the data lifecycle, architect database infrastructure for high availability and scalability.
Continuously monitor, evaluate, tune, and maintain to keep high uptime and performance. Our customers expect exceptional performance and uptime from our platform, and the database is at the core of our software.
The team is highly distributed across the globe and in different time zones, you will need to be able to thrive in a remote work environment with asynchronous communication methods.
Being highly detail-oriented and organized will be a requirement.
Participation in an on-call rotation for incidents is required. Occasional off-hours work may be required for planned maintenance and escalations.

AWS specific datastores : RDS Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, ElastiCache, Opensearch, DocumentDB
Database design & implementation : monitoring, automation, optimization, efficiency, capacity planning, emergency response, change management and process improvements
Database lifecycle & management : database health and security, upgrades, archiving, capacity management, high availability, backup and DR recovery procedures are all built, configured, and monitored correctly
Proficient knowledge of relational database systems, Structured Query Language, relational data modeling and data management principles
Proven ability to design and maintain production databases running at high performance and throughput levels with maximum uptime
Knowledge of data replication techniques and processes, and cloud computing platforms (e.g., SaaS, IaaS or PaaS)
Excellent problem solving and housekeeping skills
Comfortable working both independently and being a team player
Excellent communication skills in a virtual remote work environment
Be available on-call but build database solutions that never wake you up
Desired Skills
Programming languages : JavaScript, Python, Golang
Cloud platforms : GCP, Azure
DevOps experience for automating workflows and deployments
Possess an innersource mindset for internal tools development
Familiar with observability tool suites such as Prometheus and the Elastic Stack
Understanding of Kubernetes
