Senior Drafter
Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd.'s ("KCB") Power and Transportation Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Designer / Drafter to join our Vancouver officeThis role willwork on heavy Civil infrastructure projects, including Hydroelectric, Transportation, and Marine facilities.
The successful candidate will work as part of a project team, and alongside accomplished managers, engineers, designers, and drafters.
What you would engage in :
- Be involved in all aspects of 2D and 3D multidisciplinary design and drafting.
- Develop and draft both sketches and formal engineering design drawings from preliminary concepts in Civil, Structural, and Geotechnical disciplines.
- Create Civil and Structural layouts and conceptual plans.
- Prepare detailed design drawings (Civil, structural concrete, structural steel, and reinforcing steel detailing)
- Develop layouts and detailed designs related to earthworks, excavations, and roads.
- Review and check the work of others.
- Ensure compliance with KCB's Quality Management System (QMS) and our clients' quality standards.
What we require :
- Diploma of Civil Engineering or Certificate of Structural Drafting from a recognized technical institution.
- 10+ years' experience in Civil engineering design drafting.
- High-level of ability in the use of Autodesk applications, including AutoCAD or Revit.
- Proficiency with the use of external reference files and layer naming conventions.
- Working understanding of survey and geomatics data.
- Experience with hydroelectric facilities and / or BC Hydro CAD standards an asset
- Familiarity with GIS is an asset.
- Capable of meeting project deadlines while managing competing priorities
- Motivation to help the development of junior staff skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
The salary for this position is $115,000 to $145,000 per year. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
