Our valued Public sector client is looking to hire Intermediate Help Desk analysts to assist with the management and maintenance of computer test sets.
Background :
The client group is responsible for the in-service support of the Standard Military Pattern fleet which includes the requirement to provide Special Tooling and Test Equipment (STTE) to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) units across Canada and during deployment.
In order to conduct diagnostic and repair activities on the trucks, CAF technicians employ test sets that run a specific application called Tech Tool which runs on ruggedized Panasonic laptops.
As these IT assets have yet to be transferred and taken over for management by Shared Services Canada, the client requires assistance to manage these IT assets.
Tasks :
- Provide client support and troubleshooting for the test sets.
- Identification, tracking and resolution of issues with the test sets.
- Work with CAF users and members to coordinate the return and exchange of test sets, if required.
- The contractor shall turn on and verify that test sets are fully functional as part of the set-up process. This may include the installation of software.
- Manage / track IT assets, including multi-factor authenticators, software versions, software updates, and hardware status and location.
- Manage test sets licenses, including coordination of the renewal of licenses prior to expiration dates.
- Assist with the potential fielding / transition of the test sets to the Defence Wide Area Network, or other fielding plan.
Must haves :
- Help Desk Specialist 1 year
- Tracking inventory of hardware and software - 1 Year
- Troubleshoot computers and software - 1 Year
- Enhanced Reliability
- Lifting IT equipment of approx 15 lbs.
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science or other relevant field from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
