Compensation Advisor
The Compensation Advisor supports the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
Executes compensation functions, including job evaluations, and associated analysis. The compensation advisor will also support the annual compensation review process, performance incentive program administration, as well as out of cycle wage adjustments and reviews.
The compensation advisor is the go to person’ for day-to-day compensation questions, clarification, review, in support of the overall compensation program, and will report to the Compensation Manager.

In a typical day YOU will :
- Manage day-to-day administration of compensation questions, updates, reviews and adjustments relating to promotions, progressions, new position grading, etc.
- Execute the Company Performance Incentive Program, merit process in support of Compensation Manager. Provide recommendation on annual compensation revisions.
Review manager salary recommendations and provides guidance on execution. Communicates with managers, providing coaching on salary administration and compensation communications with employees.
Identify, gather, and participate in salary surveys for benchmarking purposes. Maintains calendar and monitors deadlines for submissions.
Conducts analysis of internal and external equity and competitiveness.
- Maintain pay equity and pay transparency policies and processes. Help answer employee questions and concerns. Provide government filing and postings as required.
- Support process, recommendations, and communication around hourly (union and non-union) classifications and progression, including allowances and premium programs.
Must-haves for this role :
- Bachelor’s degree in HRM, Commerce, Mathematics and / or equivalent experience (minimum 3 4 years).
- Experience in compensation analysis for both hourly and salaried employees, in similar / related industry sectors, mid to large size organization.
- Experience with various compensation structures and job evaluation methodologies.
- Familiarity with HRIS systems, particularly UKG, would be an asset.
- Analytical skills to collect, weigh, and analyze data on many factors to determine appropriate compensation decisions and recommendations.
- Strong system skills (HRIS, Excel) to be effectively able to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data on a regular basis.
- Strong collaborator interfaces with larger HR team, as well as leadership team to provide operational guidance in support of business decisions.
- Strong communication to be able to provide guidance to HR team, leaders, etc.
- French language proficiency is required.
