As a Senior Analyst, Crisis Management you are a critical member of Element's Response Program. In close collaboration with the Manager Operational Risk Management, the team ensures proactive preparation and effective execution of the business continuity and client disaster response programs, and supports the facilitation of site crisis response, emergency response, security incident response and disaster recovery programs.
It is a critical role that will ensure, in a business disruptive event, Element can continue to run business-critical processes for our employees, clients, and stakeholders, and assist our clients in keeping their drivers safe, secure and on the road as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Day in the Life
- Scope of duties involved in US / CA business continuity and client disaster response programs :
- Monitoring and identifying potential events, independently and in partnership with the business, such as inclement weather, IT outage, facilities outage.
- Evaluation of the risk and impact of disruptive events to Element's business processes and to clients and their drivers.
- Leading and influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and effective decision making and actioning.
- Determination and execution of actions and next steps including cross-functional team meetings and communications before, during and after a business disruptive event.
- Reporting and potential escalation to Executive and Senior leadership and response program stakeholders.
- Support and facilitate the execution in conjunction with Manager other response programs including site crisis response, emergency response, security incident response and disaster recovery
- US / CA business continuity and client disaster response programs - proactive preparations and documentation including :
- Recurring reviews of plan documents at all levels of the organization and communications templates project management.
- Monitoring of organizational changes such as departments and plan and process owners.
- Develop and conduct testing of response program plans such as tabletop exercises.
- Business continuity and client disaster response program training for response program stakeholders including but not limited to : business continuity plan and process owners, client disaster response team members and key business stakeholders.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in crisis management, finance, business administration, compliance, or a related field of study
- 2-3+ years of professional experience in a crisis management or similar response area at a publicly traded company.
- Crisis management certification is preferred or willingness to obtain a certification
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to quickly break down and work through complex problems and identify potential solutions / actions, especially during a disruptive event.
- Ability to lead, collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to identify and action solutions and next steps. This includes identifying the right resources, actively listening, and processing recommendations and feedback quickly.
- Strong, clear communication skills, both oral and written, including meetings (facilitation of cross-functional teams), internal and external communications, plan documentation and training
- Ability to work independently, exercise solid judgement and be flexible, adaptable and prioritize especially when an event requires immediate time and attention.
- Ability to lead, collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to identify and action solutions and next steps. This includes identifying the right resources, actively listening, and processing recommendations and feedback quickly.
