Our company is a well-established, and reputable Mechanical and Electrical Construction and Engineering firm serving the industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) sector of the construction industry in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and surrounding areas for over 40 years.
We are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC) with relevant technical knowledge and experience. The project manager must be familiar working with other construction professionals including building owners, consultants, engineers, and other contractors and sub-contractor to ensure that all work is complete within the allotted budget and time schedule.
Must be familiar with standard project management methods like project scheduling, planning, coordinating, staff planning, RFQ and Change Order management, commissioning, billing, project handover and closing.
The candidate must be highly organized and able to ensure the achievement of the company’s quality standards, economic objectives, and timely completion of projects.
Desired Skills and Experience :
- Mechanical Engineering background with minimum 5 years of local experience in managing ICI projects with multiple trades, and in the installation of HVAC, Hydronics and plumbing systems.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC, refrigeration and hydronics systems, controls systems, various equipment, material, and methodologies.
- Be familiar with local codes and standards relevant to the projects as well as dealing with TSSA, ESA, etc.
- Prepare, monitor and update construction budgets and schedules throughout the project.
- Ability to make reasonable and clear decisions while solving issues relating to engineering, scheduling and client relationships.
- Ensure adherence to contract specifications.
- Prepare and submit close-out documents for projects as required to achieve timely substantial completion and handover.
- Proficient with required computer skills and construction scheduling software.
- Strong organizational skills and a team player with multitasking ability and attention to details.
- Service-driven, professional, and with excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Degree from an accredited Canadian university is a plus.
