The Electrical Estimator will prepare estimates on electrical construction projects. In addition, the Estimator may provide technical support to project operations with emphasis on estimating, reporting and monitoring progress and dealing with project change.
Duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, manufacturer, engineers and contractors in the industry;
- advising clients about new and effective products and services; and actively seeking out new opportunities, projects and clients and estimating and obtaining new projects;
- Preparing estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract drawings and specifications;
- Establishing and maintaining tendering process, set up cost monitoring, reporting systems and procedures;
- Coordinating price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects regarding tenders;
- Participating in site review, tender review, and tender hand-off;
- Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors;
- Assisting in material and equipment purchasing for secure jobs.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- A College Diploma in Construction or Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Engineering, or relevant education background.
- Experience in the electrical trade may substitute for education requirements.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 or more years of hands on experience with electrical construction projects

- Scheduling, planning, and execution
- Cost Estimating
- Established electrical practices, procedures and techniques
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and Outlook

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent ability to think critically and problem solve
- Effective communication skills verbal and written
