As an IT Helpdesk Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving various IT issues for our internal and external clients.
Responsibilities also include providing support for hardware, software, network, and security systems. This position requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-oriented attitude.

Please note, our preference will be to hire an IT Helpdesk Technician II, however, if there are no qualified applicants, we may hire an IT Helpdesk Technician I.

The successful candidate for an IT Helpdesk Technician II ($46.931 / hour) must have the following qualifications :
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma from a recognized institute of technology in information systems.
- Completion of Microsoft Fundamentals level certification in Microsoft 365 or equivalent (expired certifications accepted).
- Completion of Microsoft Associate level certification in Microsoft 365 Security or Identity Access Administration or equivalent (expired certifications accepted).
- Completion of Microsoft Associate level certification in Microsoft 365 Messaging Administration or equivalent (expired certifications accepted).
- Valid BC Driver’s licence - Class 5.
- Minimum three years’ working experience managing Windows and iOS endpoints, IP LAN and Wi-Fi Communication, DNS and DHCP Communication, Active Directory, Audio / Video Equipment, Printing and POS equipment, with two years’ working experience managing Office 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Group Policy, Windows Server in an end user support role.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance. If you are unable to maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance, your employment with the City will be Terminated.
The successful candidate for an IT Helpdesk Technician I ($40.247 / hour) must have the following qualifications :
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma from a recognized institute of technology in information systems.
- Minimum two years’ working experience managing Windows and iPhone Operating System (iOS) endpoints, Internet Protocol (IP) Local Area Network (LAN) and Wi-Fi Communication, Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Communication, Active Directory, audio / video equipment, printing, and POS equipment with one year of experience managing Office 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Group Policy, and Windows Server in an end user support role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance. If you are unable to obtain or maintain an RCMP enhanced security clearance, your employment with the City will be terminated.
- Valid BC Driver’s licence - Class 5.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check.

To be considered for an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance, applicants must be a Canadian citizen or have Permanent Resident status in Canada.
Note individuals with Permanent Resident status must have resided (physically present) in Canada for three (3) out of the last five (5) years as a permanent resident.
