Reporting to the Senior Quality Director, the Customer Quality Engineer will act as a Liaison between customers and S&C, to effectively manage customer quality issues.
The ideal candidate will posses a background in Electrical Engineering complemented with relevant manufacturing experience.
In this role, you will use technical expertise to develop long-term sustainable solutions to various manufacturing related problems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage customer related quality issues, including coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders for effective closure of the problem.
- Create, update and maintain customer scorecard through Tableau and Salesforce.
- Management and tracking of all customer KPIs including setting and implementation of action plans.
- Champion Quality Review meetings / events with the key customers and provide appropriate updates to customers in a timely manner.
- Promote continuous improvement culture within the organization and implement tools such as Six Sigma, RCCA, 8D, Error proofing, Measurement System Analysis etc.
- Capture lessons learned to train the internal quality and operations team on customer specific requirements.
- Work with team to create and update quality improvement action plans.
- Create and maintain customer related quality documents such as procedures, Standard Work Instructions
- Implement procedures and processes to ensure the internal Quality Management System complies with the customer and regulatory requirements.
Who are we looking for? Someone who has
- A bachelor degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in quality (customer) or product / process engineering.
- Demonstrated skill in effective problem-solving and communication across all levels of any organization related to concepts of customer quality, production and process controls.
- Experience with various manufacturing technologies and methods, preferably within electrical manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge and experience with quality management system tools, APQP, and continuous improvement tools from Lean and Six Sigma Management Systems.
- Strong collaboration, influencing, negotiation & conflict resolution skills.
- Strong communication skills and experience dealing with customers at various levels.
- Excellent skills in data analysis and data management using Excel, Access, or other PC platform software.
- Willing and able to travel 25% domestically and possibly internationally.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is preferred
Work Arrangement : Onsite
Physical Effort
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting / moving / using objects or equipment up to 5kg / 11lbs.
QA Inspectors are sometimes required to stand for long periods of time to inspect S&C products
