Big Data is one of the fastest growing business and technology disciplines. Specifically in Telecom, there are great opportunities to utilize Big Data and advanced analytics solutions to evolve network planning and operation and prepare for the future network.

Bell's Enterprise Data Platforms is a newly formed team focused on providing cloud and / or on premise Big Data and advanced analytics technologies along with automations to help Bell maintain the "Best Network" standing as well as evolve the Bell Network.

This is a rare opportunity for seasoned data and analytics professional to join a fast growing team of Big Data, Hadoop, and analytics experts to design and develop data solutions to support the entire Bell Network community.

Job Description

As a member of the Enterprise Data Platforms team, you will be part of the Infrastructure Platforms & Automations team and will work closely with Enterprise Data Architects, Site Reliability Engineers and Developers.

The Product Manager will play a leading role in managing and advocating for the users in Bell Network and Technology Services.

This includes enhancing user experience on enterprise data platforms, such as streaming, logging, API and data analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define a vision, strategy and roadmap for the product.
  • Manage the product throughout its lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
  • Understand and represent the user's needs.
  • Aligning stakeholders around the vision of the product.
  • Collect, manage and maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases.
  • Prioritizing product features and capabilities.
  • Creating a shared environment across teams to empower independent decision-making.
  • Maintaining communication channels between users and data platforms team.
  • Responsible to maintain cross business units discussions.
  • Highly involved in managing product roadmap discussions with vendors.
  • Involved in the ideation, creation and design of the data projects, including all required architecture approvals.
  • Create, maintain and prioritize a backlog.
  • Project management, including progress tracking, reporting and resourcing.
  • Product changes management such as upgrades and key features deployments.
  • Monitor, report and improve product performance.
  • Engage in in overall Enterprise Data Platform business process development.

Critical Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Computer Information Systems is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a product management role in IT organization.
  • 3+ years of experience in Scrum Master role.
  • Certification in Scrum Master and Agile practices and theory.
  • Extensive experience in product management and leadership in cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) data transformation.
  • Expert knowledge with tools such as JIRA, MS Project, etc.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business and technical vision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working under pressure.
  • Experience in consulting, leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with vendors, fellow employees, and management concerning products overall experience.
  • Attention to detail, good analytical and problem solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Self-starter / motivator and have a proactive, agile and strategic mindset.
  • Must be able to utilize and effectively communicate functional and technical components of an initiative to applicable parties both verbally and through documentation.
  • Ability to explain technical challenges and solutions to just about anyone, regardless of their background.
  • Possess excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize, plan and deliver your work and commitments in a timely manner.
  • Initiate escalation as appropriate to ensure management awareness of problems that are severe in nature or that are exceeding documented targets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience working as part of large Information Technology teams and / or consulting organizations collaborating with clients / business groups to support complex Big Data platforms or BI analytics environments.
  • Knowledge of the various software development life cycle methodologies (Agile, Incremental and Iterative, Scrum-ban, Lean).

Knowledge and / or experience with continuous integration, continuous testing, pairing, automated testing.

  • Experience working in the Telecommunications or Media industries is an asset.
  • Working experience with the major cloud hyperscalers such as Google, Amazon and Azure is a plus.
  • Played a leading role in the delivery of multiple end-to-end projects.
  • Experience working with multiple clients and projects at a time.
  • Comfortable interviewing non-technical people to gather / discuss requirements.
  • Is easily acquainted to new technologies.
  • Wireless / Telecom Operations and Engineering business Knowledge including basic understanding of Radio access, Core network and Value added Services technologies and configurations.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
