Temporary Full-Time (August 12, 2024 to June 27, 2025) Brampton Site 37.5 hours / week Work Arrangement : Community Position Summary : School Based Rehabilitation Services (SBRS) provides occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy to students in publically funded schools from kindergarten to school exit.
SBRS clinicians consult with the school team to enable student participation in the school curriculum and school based activities.
Key Responsibilities : Schedule, manage, coordinate and effectively deliver services to students identified and referred to School Based Physiotherapy services.
Initial assessments, reassessments, goal setting and consultation to the school team and treatment when appropriate. Working collaboratively with the team to determine a service delivery plan for each student.
Equipment prescription through the Special Education Amount (SEA) program. Collaboration with the school board team to utilize existing equipment within the board.
Documentation of care. Liaising with the school team and parents to book appointments. Provide consultation to home for equipment and programming for clients with complex physical needs.
- Qualifications : Master of Science in Physiotherapy or the equivalent; Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario;
- Minimum two years of experience in Physiotherapy within the school age population preferred; Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;
- An ability to display a high level of initiative; Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting; Bilingualism in French and English is an asset;
Current C.P.R. and First Aid; Travel is a requirement for these roles; Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.
