An EA Sports Live Content Game Designer at EA Vancouver works with the production and design team on identifying and creating live content that the EA Sports customer longs for.
You will report to one of the Producers on the EA Sports NHL team. Knowledge of Hockey and a genuine passion for the sport is a requirement.
You will also need a good eye for product quality and usability along with a hunger for AAA game development. Some of the main tasks for this position include live content design and live content execution which will require you to have collaboration skills.
Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external developers is therefore a requirement.
Competencies
- Work closely with a live service team through all phases of the live product cycle.
- Work with individuals from different disciplines, focused on achieving shared product / team goals.
- Understand recent trends and what good looks like within a live service model and how it applies to the current product.
- Come up with and document creative ideas. Evaluate and critique existing ideas.
- Good eye for game quality and strong advocate for the end-user experience.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with NHL Live Team to build and execute on the live content plan.
- Responsible for executing content plan, meeting deadlines and quality levels for live content.
- Translate real-world events into live content ideas / plans on short notice, which may sometimes require flexible work hours to mirror real world hockey events.
- Clearly define goals and opportunities for live content based on "Key Performance Indicators".
- Work with NHL producers / designers to understand targets and priority changes.
- Responsible for effective communication of progress and quality with NHL team.
- Develops game-wide relationships and strong engagement with other groups (e.g. Marketing / QA / etc).
- Work closely across teams to manage dependencies and coordinate deliverables.
- Contribute to team morale & team health. Encourage others towards positive working relationships.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year background in game design and / or production with relevant experience working on a live service
BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) :
º $63,400 - $86,500 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI / QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental / adoption leave), extended health / dental / vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
