- Noise Assessments
Air Quality and Noise Responsibilities
- Preparation of Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling Reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations
- Supervise junior staff and coordinate projects with clients and senior staff.
- Project management for simple and medium complexity projects.
- Air dispersion modelling using AERMOD, SCREEN3, and other atmospheric dispersion models
- Coordinate and implement field work to conduct air and noise emission source inventories and noise measurements
- Conduct noise modeling using Cadna A and STAMSON software
- Preparation of Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic Audits
- Assist with the design of emission controls
- Assist with the design of noise abatement such as silencers, barriers and wall treatment
- Estimation of GHG emissions and / or verification of greenhouse gas reports
- Greenhouse has verifications for regulatory and voluntary programs
- Support GHD's Advisory group with carbon reduction and climate change management plans
- Aid senior staff in technical research
- Work with GHD’s corporate Air & Noise Group, consisting of over 80 engineers and scientists across North America.
- Support GHD’s Occupational Hygienists and assist with field surveys for a variety of air contaminants, noise, indoor air
- quality assessments, and designated substance assessments including abatement oversight
- Prepare reports for the National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) and Ontario Toxic Reduction Act (TRA)
Waste Responsibilities
- Characterization of waste in accordance with applicable laws
- Coordinate and occasionally oversee pickups of contaminated soil and water from project sites
- Interacting with Project Managers and Accounting to gather the information required to prepare Purchase Orders for waste vendors
- Assist with reporting requirements for industrial facilities including NPRI and Annual Summary of Activities Report, and updating Emission Summary Dispersion Modelling
- Support senior staff with technical research
Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Applied Science or Engineering in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering programs
- Previous relevant work experience preferred
- Ability to prepare proposals in plain language addressing client requirements
- Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
- Ability to complete work under tight deadlines when required
- Works well independently as well as a part of a team
- Experience and understanding of any of the following regulations and associated guidance documents would be an asset : Ontario Regulation 419 Air Quality, Ontario Regulation 347 Waste Management, Greenhouse Gas Reporting Programs (provincial and federal);
Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Willingness to travel / work on-site independently completing field work in support of GHD's Environmental Compliance business
- No aversion to heights along with the ability to work in high noise areas
- Written and verbal communication skills are critical to this position. Strong emphasis will be placed on your ability to communicate and engage in technical conversation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
- Previous field experience is considered an asset
- Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) member
- Valid G driver’s license and access to a vehicle
