Our private client has a large personal estate just outside the Calgary city limits which requires a motivated and eager team player to maintain and upkeep the grounds year-round.
This Groundskeeper / Labourer will work on this beautiful property with a small team of other groundskeepers.
The grounds crew who manage the property are a collaborative and hard working group. They are seeking a like-minded individual wanting stability and longevity in their landscaping / groundskeeping career.

Duties and Responsibilities :
The key job functions are :
- Performing lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, sod laying, and fertilizing
- Assisting with pest and weed management without using pesticides or herbicides
- Operating various machinery including ride-on lawn mowers, push mowers, trimmers, blowers, trucks, and trailers
- Servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment
- Maintaining water features
- Assisting with irrigation system maintenance
- Assisting in planting annuals and perennials
- Clearing snow and ice from walkways and driveways when necessary
- Caring for ornamental and native trees
- Planting trees and shrubs
- Removing trees, hauling logs, and splitting wood
- Weeding gardens and other areas as needed
- Amending soil when necessary
- Watering pots, urns, and gardens as directed
- Detailing vehicles and equipment
- Keeping the shop and kitchen area clean
- Fostering positive relationships with coworkers
- Performing other assigned duties
Qualifications :
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle to get to and from the property
- Clean criminal background
- Valid vaccine passport
- Ability to lift pounds (pre-employment fitness test to be completed)
- Willing and able to work overtime as needed
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and function effectively in a team environment
Experience :
- years’ working in landscaping / snow removal
- Able to communicate, adapt to change, and provide effective solutions to practical issues, all while working closely with other team members and contractors
- Horticulture and groundskeeping experience is an asset
- Design experience is considered an asset
- Able to operate a bobcat, tractor, truck trailer, mower, and other small equipment
Base Salary : $, ,+ per year

Work Hours :

- Overtime to be expected in peak seasons (- hours of OT per week)
