SUMMARY
Reports to the Continuous Improvement Manager and the Mechanical Manager and works under the direction of the Foreperson - Mechanical.
Performs maintenance, repair, alteration, and installation tasks including renovations and modifications on HVAC systems.
Performs minor elements of other trades.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of a secondary school graduation program or equivalent.
Completion of B.C. Trades Qualification or Inter-Provincial Certificate in HVAC / Refrigeration.
Must have a Class "B" gas ticket. A Class "A" gas ticket is an asset.
Minimum of 5 years recent experience working in the trade. Skill in the use of tools of the trade.
Familiarity and experience working with DCC systems, HVAC controls, and hydronic heating systems.
Must have knowledge and experience maintaining and troubleshooting a variety of heat pumps.
Experience servicing boilers would be considered an asset.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and control schematics.
Ability to safely operate and maintain a large variety of machinery.
Valid B.C. Driver's License. Safe driving record.
Physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to use judgement when providing information.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a crew.
Current and thorough knowledge of related standards, practices, regulation, codes, and methods.
Knowledge of WCB and WHMIS regulations. Safe work habits.
Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
