- Ability to manage challenging student behaviors.Knowledge and experience : · Primary Programs : Read Well, Saxon Math, Acadience Reading· Intermediate programs : Reading Mastery, Six Minute Solution, Jump Math / Math Focus, Corrective Reading, Third Quest· Effective classroom management skills;
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture;· Effective planning strategies which include lesson plans, unit plans and year plans;
- Comprehensive assessment strategies which accommodate First Nations learning styles;· Willingness to integrate appropriate technologies in the classroom;
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs;· Willingness to incorporate a variety of teaching methods to motivate and encourage students including the use of traditional knowledge in the outdoors and on the land;
- Willingness to participate in local community and cultural events;· Experience using technology and web-based resources in instruction including Smartboards and IPads;
- Maintains effective and consistent communication with students and parents to discuss progress and goals· Ensure that students follow all COVID-19 guidelines such as handwashing, physical distancing, staying in cohorts, and mask wearing as required by current health and safety guidelines;
